Food Resources

Maricopa Community Colleges has provided a list of several food resources (food banks, hot meals, mobile produce markets, online food resources, and SNAP assistance) so you know where to go in a time of need. The resources on this page are updated on a regular basis.

Note: Check with the provider for the most up-to-date hours of operation before visiting a location.

 


 

Food Banks and Hot Meals

Maricopa Community Colleges food banks are temporarily closed, but you can visit the following sites:

St. Mary’s Food Bank

If you need an emergency food box, call the number listed below; an operator will direct you to the nearest food bank location to pick up a food box. All students will be required to provide a photo ID and proof of residency (letter from parent or guardian, utility bill, or postal mail addressed to the student that proves residency).

Homeless students may visit the address below for emergency food boxes. Please be sure to bring a photo ID.

ICM Food & Clothing Bank

The ICM Food & Clothing Bank is a TEFAP participant and offers food boxes outside the building, depending on supplies. No referral is required, however, a photo ID and proof of address is required. SNAP and SNAP to Work programs will take clients by appointment only.

The Cultural Cup Food Bank

The Cultural Cup Food Bank offers emergency food boxes, free meals and transportation for the homeless from the Cultural Cup Food Bank to Parson's Family Health Center, clothing when available, SNAP enrollment assistance (by appointment only), and adult incontinent products.

Phoenix Public Library

Kids Cafe and St. Mary's Food Bank will distribute a free, healthy breakfast and lunch to kids and teens (ages 0-18) outside the following clinics during the specified times below. Parents can pick up meals on behalf of their children with appropriate documentation. 

On Fridays, each child may receive double meals to provide for Saturday. Meals are provided by St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance.

Market On the Move

For a donation of $10 in Phoenix and Tucson and $15 in Northern Arizona, you can get up to 60 lbs. of fresh produce. 

Produce on Wheels With-Out Waste (P.O.W.W.O.W)

Hours of Operation: Saturdays | 8 - 11 a.m.
For a $12 donation, you can get up to 70 lbs. of fresh produce.

Arizona Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program

WIC provides supplemental healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support services, and referrals to health and social services to pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children under five who are at nutritional risk.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) helps provide healthy food for families, children, and vulnerable adults in need. 

SNAP Outreach

Research indicates more than 50% of community college students suffer from food insecurity.

Maricopa County Community Colleges has partnered with the Department of Economic Security (DES) to create the SNAP O program, a district-wide initiative designed to provide you information, resources, and services, including assistance with the SNAP application process.  SNAP O will include SNAP Eligibility Specialists who are assigned by region to your college and who will be your direct contact for support.

Department of Economic Security Nutrition Assistance Program

The Department of Economic Security (DES) Family Assistance Administration (FAA) determines eligibility for the Nutrition Assistance (NA) Program, formerly known as Food Stamps.
