HEERF FAQs

You can see your HEERF amounts by logging into your Student Center. Under the Finances section click on Account Inquiry and then click on the printer next to the Fall 2021 semester and college that you are receiving your HEERF disbursement from. The funds will show up as an ARPA disbursement.

Each college determined eligibility based on available funding and the overall student population for Fall 2021. If you received funding, it was determined that you met the necessary requirements to receive the funds.

HEERF funds will go through your chosen refund method. If you have not chosen a refund method, a paper check will be issued to the mailing address that we have on file. If you do not have a mailing address, it will be sent to the home address on file. While you can update your refund method and home address in your Student Center, the refund may have already been processed. Please contact Student Business Services at 480-731-8800.

If you see your HEERF disbursement in your Student Center, you can anticipate receiving the funds based on the following refund methods:

  • Direct Deposit: 3 to 4 business days
  • Reloadable Debit Card: 3 to 4 business days
  • Paper Check: 10 to 14 business days

You will receive an email from Nelnet when your refund has been processed.

Award amounts were based on a variety of different criteria from each college, based on funding levels and the number of eligible students.

At this time, HEERF funding levels are determined for each college. If additional HEERF funds come available in the future, you will receive notification regarding any additional funds.

HEERF funds do not need to be paid back.

If you were enrolled on or after October 25, 2021 you are eligible for the HEERF funds disbursed to you.

Maricopa Community Colleges is evaluating any additional funding and disbursement opportunities for students who were not eligible for this round of HEERF funding. Additional funding may be available for students enrolled in the Spring 2022 semester. Please continue checking this page as well as your student email for any additional funding opportunities.
